Of dogs and roti rolls

Hmm.. was going thru a restaurant's dessert menu the other day and came across an ice-cream called mud-slab which reminded me of an incident which happened to me and a couple of my friends couple of years back.

Well this is about when i was working back in Bangalore. A friend of mine(Raj) came over from Hyderabad for the weekend to Bangalore to spend the weekend with us. And amazingly, it was the first of the month and it was a Friday!! we get out pay checks ;)

So obviously Raj, Talwar(another close friend of mine who is working Bangalore)and me go to TGI Friday's. Well for us, back then, that was a costly place, not something we could go every other day. We go there and the waiter tells us that they dont serve straight alcohol at the tables and that we would have to settle for cock-tails. We frowned and the testosterone level in us was high that weekend. So we ask him to get the strongest cocktail they have and he gets some cocktail in a glass that could easily hold like 800 ml. Fine great!! each of thise things costed 200 bucks!! freak!! we were on a roll that evening and got drunk like crazy for 4 hrs straight. and the final thing we had was a chocolate ice-cream called mud-slab. Basically it was chocolate ice cream with chocolate syrup on top. It costed 200 bucks!! again freak!!

Like the song "We could be heroes, just for one day!".. that was our day to be heroes with our wallets. Anyways, the three of us make a bill for 6k in 4 hrs. Finally when we were leaving, the waiter asks us if we were alright and if we could back home safe. We told him, we were totally in control (ya right!) and we could go back safe anywhere we wanted.

The three of us went on our bikes to TGI Friday's, Talwar's and mine. So we go to the parking lot and I try to unlock the handle lock of my bike for 10 mins without success. Raj was in a better state and he finally grabs the keys from me and tells me to sit back. OK there's a momentary lapse of memory here and I dont actually remember how we got back to our house.

But wait, guys get drunk, then what happens? They get hungry! it was 1 AM and every place we could see was closed. There was this roti-rolls (for those of you who dont know what roti-rolls are they are like burritos) place which we used to frequent often. The guy was cleaning up and we asked him for fodd. He said buzz off. After sweet talking (actually begging) him for 10 minutes he said he has stuff to make just 2 rolls - one veg roll and one chicken roll.great!! he gives us the 2 rolls and we thank him. talwar volunteers to drop out and offers us (me and raj) to have one each. wonderful!!

OK.. momentary lapse of memory here again. All that follows is what has been told to me the next day morning cause i dont remember allt his happening. Supposedly just before we (me and raj) started eating, we saw two stray dogs in front of us and we decided that they were hungry too. But wait! which one gets the chicken roll?

One of the dogs was a male.. so it was named Karunanidhi and the other was a female so it was named Jaya Lalitha. Karunanidhi was a decent guy so he gets the veggie roll and jaya gets the chicken roll. So we try feeding the dogs the only food we had, for which we had to literally beg the guy!! supposedly, the dogs didnt want to eat the rolls and we (me and raj)ran after them trying to feed them. Talwar was supposedly lying on the ground laughing like crazy watching us do all this.

Finally we manage the manage to feed the dogs and we find ourselves a road side tea shop. Me and Raj buy ourselves some real hot tea, toasted it to our friendship or some shit like that and had it bottoms-up!! This was evident the next day cause my throat was hurting like hell.

The name of the cocktail was Mindtwister. It was blue in color and had vodka, whisky, gin, rum n' beer all mixed together. Raj, Gaygay n' I met up another day at TGIF and had the same thing. Ah.. Best thing is the happy hours last till 8.30, so we had buy 1 get 1 free and Raj had both his and half of my 2nd one too! I think I rem the tea bottoms-up I dunno how :p
